The two most important things in your diet are iron and protein. The hair cells are the fastest growing cells in the body but they are also the first ones to be affected you don't eat right or suffer with deficiencies because they are not required for survival.
All the nutrients that you consume are first sent to the parts of the body that really need them like the heart, liver, kidneys and then what's left benefits your hair. This makes it important for you to consume the right nutrients and in the right quantities.
Add iron and protein to your diet, they are the two basic elements. Also, add foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids, zinc, Vitamin A, Vitamin B12 and C. All of these strengthen hair follicles
Beware of fad diets aimed at quick weight loss. They can starve your body of important nutrients, which can lead to brittle hair or hair loss.
